Erosion is the process of transporting these rock fragments away from their original location. These two processes continuously affect the Earth’s surface, creating diverse landforms.

Minerals are valuable natural resources exploited and used by humans. They are the result of geological processes that take place deep within the Earth. The search and exploitation of minerals are an important part of the geological industry, contributing to the economic development of nations.

Applications of Geology

Geology is not only a purely scientific field but also has many practical applications in life. From finding groundwater sources, assessing natural disaster risks (earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides) to searching for and exploiting minerals, constructing buildings, geology plays an important role in sustainable development.
